Tyvek Bivy

When hiking, it’s frustrating when your sleeping bag gets wet from tent condensation. Many long-distance hikers have experienced the discomfort of a sleeping bag becoming too warm due to trapped moisture.
Inspired by quilted sleeping bags and bivy sacks, I decided to cover my sleeping bag with Tyvek fabric. Tyvek is lightweight, waterproof, and breathable. The design fully encloses the feet to better protect the sleeping bag’s footbox, while the upper part is open and simply drapes over the sleeping bag. I found that this setup significantly improves insulation in my sleep system.
That said, Tyvek has limited waterproofing, so it’s not recommended to use it without a shelter. For winter camping, you can leave the mesh tent at home. Just bring the Tyvek bivy, and you’ll notice your tent feels more spacious.

We’ve discovered that some alpinists have successfully used our bivy to tackle highly technical snow-covered peaks. They forego tents entirely and find it handles snowfall.
